On the morning of Thursday December 11 were inaugurated works for the environmental recovery of the Segura river passing through Lorquí within the rehabilitation project in the area between the Dam of eyes and the Contraparada ..
The event was attended by the delegate of the Government in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, Dolores García Villa, mayor of the municipality ilorcitano, the president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS), José Salvador Fuentes Zorita, and the director general Acuamed, Adrian Baltanás.
These works in the municipality of Lorquí, valued at one million euros, have led to the restoration of the Wheel of Rapa traditional hydraulic element, to encourage awareness of this type of infrastructure, assistance for the establishment of riparian vegetation patches ( woods), the repopulation of the woods with tree and shrub species of shore features, the generation and marking of routes and paths to promote and raise awareness of the people all the elements of interest and existing water infrastructure.
The different areas are connected by a series of routes that are signaled by taking advantage of existing roads and trails and some new construction, and interventions to improve the connection of the towns with the Segura River through improved roads and access thereto, dirt roads conditioning.
Between Dam Eye and The Contraparada
The environmental recovery of the Segura River between Dam Eye and The Contraparada-with an investment of 7 billion euros, complete with stretches of Ceuta and Alguazas, both inaugurated today also, and those of Molina de Segura and Las Torres gossips.
After completing this project, have created a cultural and ecological corridor to recover the natural functioning of river and integrated into the municipalities that are part of the Vega Media Murcia.
