Lorquí City Council and the company Entorno Urbano y Medio Ambiente, SL have signed a contract this week with the objective of expanding cleaning services in the municipality, as well as assuming the maintenance and conservation of gardens, green areas and rural roads.
The signature, which took place in the City of Lorquí, was carried out between José Ramón Quirante, on behalf of the service concession company and Joaquín Hernández, mayor of the municipality.
The contract, which lasts for 10 years, reaches an amount of more than â‚¬ 850,000 for different services.
First, the collection service for solid urban and selective eco-park wastes totals â‚¬ 460,000;
and it will be carried out through a mixed collection system, with replacement and purchase of new containers of greater capacity.
Among them, there will be 10 containers adapted for people with disabilities.
In addition, the installation of two complete batteries of underground containers will be carried out, as well as 17 mobile mini-points.
As for the road cleaning service, the number of workers will be expanded, and there will be an increase in the replacement of wastebaskets and sweepers, making possible an improvement in the quality of the service.
For this, an amount of more than â‚¬ 267,000 has been allocated.
Finally, the maintenance and conservation service of parks and green areas is included in the contract.
This item of more than â‚¬ 122,000 will involve the supply and planting of 200 woodland units during the execution of the contract, as well as the planting of 2,000 annual units of seasonal flowers, including an improvement in the maintenance of rural roads.
During the meeting the mayor stressed the importance of expanding this service because "with these improvements we intend to expand the cleaning services of the municipality, adapting them to the needs and requirements of the neighbors. With this service we are committed to a cleaner Lorquí."
Therefore, the service will be developed throughout the municipality, including the districts of Los Palacios and La Anchosa, as well as the polygons that do not have their own waste collection service.
"Our intention is that in a maximum period of six months all these services can be fully operational," says Hernández.
