The City Council approves its 2020 budgets focused on investments, infrastructure and maintenance of public services (26/12/2019)

Lorquí City Council approves the general budgets for 2020 amounting to 10,697,435 euros, an increase of almost 2 million euros based on stability and the balance between income and expenses.

These have as fundamental axes the maintenance of public services, the provision of important infrastructure for the municipality, social care, the promotion of employment and development of industrial estates, and the maintenance of quality public services;

avoiding cuts.

Thus, as highlighted by the spokeswoman, Paqui Asensio, they are realistic budgets, because there is a balance between expenses and income and they meet the objective of budgetary stability and financial sustainability;

responsible for the current situation;

and open to the future, because they contemplate and allow the growth of the municipality through the provision of infrastructure and the development of industrial areas, fundamental for job creation.

In addition, these budgets are the result of years of management, it is not a new budget, but the continuation of the path initiated of good practices and fulfillment of real commitments, with a rigorous level of transparency ”, as the mayor of the municipality has pointed out , Joaquín Hernández.

"The neighbors of Lorquí continue to be the center of municipal political attention and we maintain a series of guiding principles that guide government action: effectiveness, efficiency and transparency."

The budgets for 2020 count in their investment item with a total of 1,846,482 euros and take into account both small investments, which are not less important because they meet the demands of the residents of the town and districts, and collect important projects such as the Day and Residence Center for the Elderly;

investment in heads and cave houses;

the asphalting of streets;

the conditioning of the urban helmet and the investment in rural roads and an exclusive game destined to the damages caused by the DANA.

“A very important effort has been made to clean up the City Council and thus be able to face investments in infrastructure that are very necessary for the development and growth of our people,” said Hernández.

Likewise, these assure and consolidate aid in social services by increasing the social emergency aid item, collecting labor insertion, absenteeism, telecare programs and childhood-friendly cities.

Thus, this year a new item for participatory budgets of 15,000 euros has been approved.

In the field of Education, the school has invested in the maintenance and adaptation of schools and 100% supporting the school transport service for children who come to the dining room.

In addition, 8,000 euros have been allocated for school supplies and grants to schools and AMPAS have been approved.

Likewise, the areas of culture, festivities and tourism have been reinforced to spread the wealth and heritage of the municipality.

Citizen participation and associationism are also promoted by betting on the associative fabric of the municipality with a heading of more than 150,000 euros for grants.

In employment and training, we continue to focus on a series of measures that allow and facilitate access to the labor market for the unemployed.

For this, we work from the training that allows to improve the conditions of the unemployed and paying special attention to the long-term unemployed and young people enrolled in the Youth Guarantee System with measures such as the Local Employment Program for hiring workers, programs training for unemployed and young people, the program of local employment and development agents and the organization throughout the year of training courses.

"I reiterate again as other years that the objective of this City Council is to achieve a well-managed and solvent Administration, where it is clear that the commitments acquired are being fulfilled," concluded the mayor.
