The Municipal Library presents its program for this year 2020 (16/01/2020)

From the Department of Culture of the City of Lorquí and maintaining its commitment to the promotion of culture, the Municipal Library presents its program for this year 2020, with activities and proposals for all ages ranging from writing contests to storytelling, not forgetting of the formative talks for the whole family.

Thus, the councilors of Culture and Equality, who have attended the presentation, have highlighted the large number of activities that will be this year, such as poetry recitals, workshops, crafts, exhibitions, storytelling in English or the XV edition of the Reading Marathon Intercultural children.

The program, which will begin on January 30, will be released with a day of storytelling and crafts and ends on December 17 with the classic Christmas storyteller.

The programmed activities are also adapted to celebrations and special occasions such as the VI edition of the Biblioenamórate contest, on the occasion of Valentine's Day, the Carnival crafts workshop or the workshops of monstrous decoration and Christmas decoration related to Halloween and Christmas.

This year, as a novelty, a Youth Reading Club has been created for children and adolescents from 12 to 16 years old.

The club will meet biweekly, in the Municipal Library in sessions of an hour and a half, coordinated by an expert monitor in reading dynamization.

Thus, during the sessions:

Some chapters of the chosen book will be read every two weeks.

A motivational introduction to each book will take place.

Activities will be carried out before, during and after reading.

Interesting references from the book will be sought.

Creative writing will work and we will publish in a blog.

Through this club, the aim is to promote, enhance and stimulate the user's approach to books, improve reading habits, ensure their reading growth, move from knowing how to read to want to read and encourage the playful aspect of reading.

"The effort that has been carried out by the staff of the Municipal Library, as well as the City Council, which has increased the budget in animation for reading, aims to give more space to this space not only as a traditional library, but as a meeting place for all those committed to culture "said María Dolores García Rojo, Councilor for Culture of the City of Lorquí.
