The City Council of Lorquí, through the Department of Tourism, has been working since last year with the objective that the tourist, gastronomic and cultural offer of the municipality is present in this edition of the International Tourism Fair 2020 that has been held in Madrid between January 22 and 26.
On this occasion, and after the success that has been reaping in previous editions with the proposal of artisanal preservation and its artistic and religious legacy, the municipality has been a showcase for the Region of Murcia through its deep-rooted Huerta culture and tradition.
'Lorquí, Cultiva tu Sentidos' is the title of the presentation that the mayor, Joaquín Hernández, made last Friday, January 24 at 1:30 p.m. at the stand of the Region of Murcia in FITUR.
Through this, the municipality was exposed and made known with the projection of a video in which a tour of the tourist attractions of the town is made and the Lorquian orchard tradition is contextualized.
After the presentation, visitors were able to taste various products of the canned artisan company 'El Modesto' in Lorquí: artichoke, piquillo pepper and peach.
Hernández invited all those present to know a municipality that culminates his orchard landscape with the two magnificent ferris wheels that are conserved of the twelve with which the town came to have.
In addition, they represent an important tourist attraction as part of routes along with the rest of the artistic complex of the municipality, since both are declared of Cultural Interest.
"We invite you to feel the tradition of the ilorcitana orchard, the Vergel de la Vega Media, to feel at home. We invite you to feel Lorquí," said the mayor, Joaquín Hernández during his speech.
Also, on Saturday, in the morning, Lorquí was the protagonist of the regional space with the showcooking 'Cultiva tu Sentidos', thanks to the staging of Bodegas 'De Fábula', offering an exclusive culinary and gastronomic experience for a Limited number of diners.
They offered us two tapas called 'Delicias de la Huerta' with their respective pairing of organic wines, unique in the regional and national scene.
Thus, they will highlight in all their actions the philosophy of natural wine tourism.
The mayor of Lorquí, Joaquín Hernández, moved with the Councilor for Tourism, María Dolores García Rojo, and the members of Bodegas 'De Fábula' to participate and represent Lorquí at the Tourism Fair.
"This has been a unique and exceptional opportunity to publicize part of the wealth of our people. The experience has been very satisfactory and Lorquí has â€‹â€‹been very well represented in this tourism fair," as Hernández indicated.
