Lorquí becomes a reference in ancient music with its VI edition of FEMAL (04/03/2020)

All concerts will take place in the Church of Santiago Apóstol, in addition to being free

Lorquí hosts, for the sixth consecutive year, the celebration of the Festival of Ancient Music (FEMAL), organized by the Department of Culture of the City Council together with the DeMúsica Ensemble group, in order to complement the cultural offer of the municipality linked to the important artistic heritage and historical that completes with the Church of Santiago Apostle as solemn stage of the interpretations and with the carvings of the sculptor master Francisco Salzillo as witnesses.

The Festival tries to publicize music from different origins and centuries, living the past with the present.

The programming begins next Saturday, March 7 at 8:30 p.m., with the performance of 'Anonymous IV' Renaissance music group that was formed in 2003.

On Saturday, March 14, the evening will be in charge of 258 Ensemble and its Baroque style, whose objective is to present European musical heritage.

And finally, on Saturday, March 21, Jota Martínez Dúo will be in charge of closing this festival with Medieval music.

All concerts will be free and in the surroundings of the Santiago Apóstol de Lorquí Church, starting at 8:30 p.m.

"The FEMAL has become a musical and cultural event of reference in the Region of Murcia, such as the Momua that took place last November in Molina de Segura. An appointment that year after year emphasizes the importance of ancient music and that adds to the various activities that are carried out for the promotion of our heritage and culture. In addition, it has been collected, for the fourth consecutive year, in the Golden Book of Music in Spain, "as the councilor of Culture, María Dolores García, during the presentation the poster of the same that was attended by the mayor of the municipality, Joaquín Hernández, and two of those responsible for the festival, the musicologist and component of the female vocal group 'DeMúsica Ensemble', María Ángeles Zapata , and the co-organizer of the festival, Lorenzo Cutillas.
