Lorquí is UNICEF's Childhood Friendly City (23/11/2016)

UNICEF has valued very positively the participation of children in the Municipal Council of Citizen Participation and in the elaboration of the Children's Plan and the innovative project of 'Networking' to serve the most disadvantaged children

The municipality of Lorquí has ​​become UNICEF's Children's City after the recognition of the Spanish Committee for the work that has been carried out during the last years in the City of Lorquí, in collaboration with other agencies and institutions, for the defense of rights , Interests and needs of the minors of the municipality.

Thus, after collecting the Seal last week in Santander, the mayor, Joaquín Hernández, presented this morning the assessments of UNICEF to the project and the policies of children of Lorquí.

The event, chaired by UNICEF Murcia president, Amparo Marzal, has also attended the mayors of the three municipalities that have received Seal with Lorquí: José Ballesta, mayor of Murcia, Pascual Lucas, mayor of Cieza and José Miguel Luengo, mayor Of San Javier.

Likewise, the mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernández, has collected a mention for good practices.

In the case of Lorquí, the unanimous support of the Town Hall Plenary has been very positively valued to the Municipal Childhood Plan, through which the firm commitment to the smaller ones is manifested and materialized.

Also the active dynamic work that is done thanks to the Sectoral Council of Children and Adolescents and the creation of an Interconcejalías Organ for the design and the execution in collaboration of the strategies that define and define the policies of infancy and adolescence.
