Already beginning to smell the joy, the bustle and fun of Carnival Lorquí.

And is that the local culture department has already opened the registration period for the big carnival parade 2011 of the municipality, which will take place on Sunday 13 March (16 hours).

Departing from the Station Road and finishing at the Town Hall square as is tradition, participants will be eligible for awards proposed by the Consistory ilorcitano: divided into two categories, individual costume and parade, will be awarded plaques to paths three best proposals for each.

"There are years that go down to the 200 participants and this year, although l crisis, we expect a number of local parades," said local councilor Celebrations, Antonio Asensio, who notes that this narrow economic time is a good opportunity "to give free rein to the imagination, ingenuity and talent with one goal: make the most of a day full of noise and color."
